My rifle The Heym Express rifle can feed very square noses but I would like to make the bullet suitable for other rifles as well just in case.
The bullets posted by Ray are for the 470 NE and will not face the problem with feeding if any.
I will give my cup point solid the biggest cup possible but still keep in mind that feeding is essential when hunting DG.

Cheers,

Andr

First off, let me state that it is my opinion that manufacturers have no business posting on a "users" forum. It smacks of an infomercial and infomercials make me gag. Even so, I must make a clarification about the pictures posted.

Those pictures are of highly experimental bullets from three years ago. At the time, there was no intention, on my part, to make them commercially. There was two points to the experiment. One, to find the point of minimum contact that a bullet could have with the rifling and still spin the bullet up to rotational velocity, and the pressure/velocity relationship that resulted. Second, to find if a cup nose would chop a cleaner entrance hole. To my utter amazement, the damn things expanded. The expanded bullets you see here came from my tests and were not recovered from animals. A few of the experimental bullets did go to Africa but, in my opinion, the results were inconclusive (to my knowledge, only one was recovered and it certainly was not as "pretty" as those pictured).

The bullets pictured have very little relation to the bullets that are being produced, in shape, land construction, or cup size . After the first of the year, information and pictures will be on the website.

Andre, last night I sent, to the email addy in your bio, pictures of current bullets recovered from animals. The reason that I have not done so earlier was that you never asked. As most that have dealt with me will attest, I occasionally bark but I seldom bite. Feel free to ask.

I do not intend to post again as I prefer to deal with people on a one to one basis.

Y'all have a nice day

Mike

Maybe Andr can post the pics for you here Ray, so that other inquiring minds can see them too?

Those cup points are a very good design to generate a stable supercavitation. If you make the diameter a little smaller, adjust the cup and make it in front of a ogive, it would result in a self forming SuperPenetrator.

Thank you for the candor Mike. It is still nice to see that companies are willing to listen to and help their cutomers.
