The show was great again, as usual. Plenty of AR folks in attendance to dine, drink, BS, and talk about fine guns and the hunts we plan for the,. Special thanks to Karl Evans of DSC for his support, generosity and accommodations, and I suspect Saeed is involved behind the scenes as well.

Some of our members were so enthusiastic, they had to almost be physically restrained!

I was very disappointed and didn't think it was very good at all. Many exhibitors missing from the displays. Few if any new products and many vendors only had leftover merchandise to offer.

I'm proud to have missed those minimum standards!!

But as always, the DSC show was outstanding. First time I've brought the wife along for the entire 4 days. She had a great time and really enjoyed meeting some of the guys from AR I've been telling her about lately. I enjoyed meeting new friends at the AR banquet as well, putting names to faces.

As for Ricky boy and Justin ... moon

Didn't notice anyone missing this year but noticed new blood. Also saw lots of products available and new vendors wares as well. Don't know what was missing, Alabama ed? Verney Carron, Heym and others were certainly showing some spectacular guns and the artists were in abundance, especially the works of John Tolmay.

George had all the doubles you could shake a stick at (except that Watson Bro. .475 No. 2, think that's coming to my home) as well as Griffin & Howe, William Larkin Moore and others. Great show, Great people, Great friends.

Sorry I missed the AR party but was crazy busy. Karl did an excellent job as always and I enjoyed seeing AR guys at our booth. I thought the show was , as usual, fantastic on every level. DSC staff, and the army of volunteers have my respect in every way for their effort and show.

I thought it was a great show also. Plenty to choose from for whoever/whatever. Has anyone gotten any feedback from the outfitters on how the show went for them? Were bookings avg, great, or what? I'm always curious about this, but it sure seemed like lots of business was being done. The very few I asked said it was going very well. Just curious, and DSC does an outstanding job.

Because of arthritic knees I only got to spend an hour there Fri. & about 5hrs. Sat.
Certainly not enough time to see even half the show.(especially moving like a 3 legged turtle)
Still had a great time, but only got to see a few of my friends. There's always next year.
I only saw 1 booth unmanned.
From what I saw it was a great show, as usual.

DSC put on an excellent show. My family and I had a great time catching up with old friends from previous hunts and speaking to new outfitters, guides, and PHs about their offerings. Ended up booking two hunts, buying a few gifts for our daughter, picking up two new guns along with a new set of shooting glasses and walking out with a plethora of new cold weather gear. I’d say it was a very productive show!

Too all DSC members involved in pulling this spectacle off... KUDOS ALL AROUND!!!!!

JGraider: I spoke with several outfitters (Africa, North and South America and Spain)and all but one said they were having a fantastic show. A couple of them told me they booked more hunts on Thursday than they eer booked in one day, anywhere. One exhibitor who sells antler art and lights said he was going to have to take antler lights out of his house in order to have something to show at SCI...he was happy. The only outfitter I spoke to that reported not having a really good show was from Europe. Thanks again to all of you that made the trip and special thanks to those of you that supported our exhibitors.

The African outfitters I spoke with indicated it was a stellar year. I received the same feedback from a few vendors selling apparel and a couple of the artists/dealers. A number of the gun dealers also said they had a great show. I discussed the show with the company making custom fit ear protection and they too said it was a great year.

The random sampling I did seemed to indicate a good year. It would be nice for some of the outfitters that post here to chime in and give their perspective.

Biebs, great meeting you and a few of the other guys who are on the AR forum. Bad knee kept me from seeing about half the show, but really enjoyed it.
People need to also come to our AR dinner on Friday night and the Saturday "cocktail party."

The DSC show was great. I really enjoy meeting all the people here on AR that come to it. Nice to put faces to names. I missed getting around to the AR rooms but did enjoy the dinner. Michael458 left his wallet and I thought I was going to be able to buy him dinner but the wonderful DSC picked up the tab for all of us. What a great organization!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't stay but two days and missed a lot but did really enjoy what I did get to see.

Attended my first DSC show and really enjoyed the experience. The AR get together was great and hats off to Karl and all the folks who help put this together. In general most folks were very friendly, but that's the way MOST Texas people are. Met quite of few AR members and was good to put faces to the names we see here on site.

The fact that most of the folks, excluding exhibitors and DSC members didn't have badges, kinda hindered trying to find and figure out who folks were. A lot of vendors expressed this same frustration in not having a ready way to identify folks walking up to their booth.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday it was very cooooool in the convention hall. Lots of folks wearing coats and shivering a bit. Don't know who was in charge of the temp control, but could have been a bit warmer for sure. It was 74 degrees outside in Dallas on Sunday, nice.

Food was, well Show food. Took my own provisions in my pack so didn't have to deal with this factor. Shuttle to and from the Show/Hotel was nice and saved a lot of time and Dallas driving concerns.

All in all a good time. I am actually getting a little tired of Show going so might take a few years off, but after a year passes will most likely be up for one, DSC or SCI.
