Those of us that still think that "so long as it is legal we should not criticise" might think again once the global coverage of CNN shows the Anti's what is really going on. No doubt this show has been "facilitated" by some Animal Rights group to coincide with CITES CoP 14 meeting. CNN will be broadcasting a report about Canned Lion Hunting in South Africa this week. Friday June 8th - CNN News, various times Saturday June 9th - Inside Africa, CNN 6.30pm South Africa time Sunday June 10th - Inside Africa, CNN 1.30am South Africa time Sunday June 10th - Inside Africa, CNN 3pm South Africa time The report can also be seen online for one week from Monday June 11 "...Them, they were Giants!" J.A. Hunter describing the early explorers and settlers of East Africa hunting is not about the killing but about the chase of the hunt.... Ortega Y Gasset

Will these be shown the same time of the CITES Cop 14 meeting or after ? Any damage done agaisnt any kind of hunting is a damage to all our hunters. Mich you have a PM. Frederik Cocquyt I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Wait a second. CNN is aggressively leftist, so what did you expect from them? Pro-hunting coverage? You are suggesting that a dog might do something other than bark. analog_peninsula ----------------------- It takes character to withstand the rigors of indolence.

CNN - the bastion of quality news and journalism.. I sometimes feel like they have gone beyond trying to covertly get a point across and their new mandate is "you are all thick as pig shit and we will will treat you such, you are incapable of making decisions, we will make them for you". I cringe to think of a report like that.

How dumb can the antis and ourselves be is my question. As long as folks are happy shooting those canned Lions, THEY ARN'T SHOOTING OUR WILD LIONS. Just another example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions by folks that make judgement on stuff they just don't know about. Let folks shoot the canned Lions, they shoot canned beef, pigs, chickens, sheep and goats and nobodys crying over that. Lets let the canned lions take the hunting pressure off the wild lions... The pressure on wild lions can be handled through monitoring populations, setting quotas, adoption of the six year old minimum rule and other sound conservation measures. It sure as hell won't be eased by permitting or condoning the shooting of captive-bred, human-dependent, recently released zoo lions behind a fence. Any hunter who would do that is not the kind of hunter who would even consider a wild and free-ranging lion hunt. After all, success is not guaranteed (in fact, the odds against are probably at least 3 or 4 to 1 in most places), it is more difficult and time-consuming and it costs a whole lot more. It's much easier to buy and kill a lion like a slaughterhouse steer - as long as one is not troubled by the lack of hunting ethics that entails, of course. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

an example of "1st order thinking". A very naive outlook. "...Them, they were Giants!" J.A. Hunter describing the early explorers and settlers of East Africa hunting is not about the killing but about the chase of the hunt.... Ortega Y Gasset
