Two for me. Eland and wildebeest The eland was amazing, tracking and stalking behind bushmen trackers. Hearing them chewing before you could see them. Quite the rush. And the wildebeest. My oh my how one of the culls we shot could soak up the bullets. Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

Strangely enough, Leopard. I thought that the baiting and sitting in a blind would be, in a word, tedious. I really wanted to get one, but thought it would just be plain work. The experiences have actually been different. The hunting of plains game for the bait in itself is fun; then add it the chess match of finding a good spot and set up so that you can get the cat to come to your blind without revealing yourself, and then the adrenaline of all the sudden seeing him. It's a great rush. As I have done more of it, I begin to realize how much mental work the hunt is- at first, I just let the PH's do their thing, but after asking lots (probably too many) questions and getting more experience, I am getting more involved in the decisions of the hunt and that makes it even more enjoyable. Now if I could find a way to just make it cheaper...

Zebra, eland and red hartebeest for me. All were far more challenging than I ever dreamed possible. The eland took the better part of two days and nearly 20 miles on foot and we were either on them or their tracks the entire time.

So far - blue wildebeest ... awesome animals in the rocks, heat and thorn-bush!! I didnt have any intention of even hunting one - till I saw my first herd. My PH was excitable when we were stalking them too... he got a bit upset when I snapped a twig!! That's when I realised that even HE thought they were really cool... Bush Pigs. They are a poor man's leopard. You bait, you wait and you shoot quickly before they vamoose. Of course, a wounded pig in the jesse is most interesting, too, to say the least. And, they make wonderful mounts, especially if you get one colored as well as this one. JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

ZEBRA!!! On my 1st safari, I wanted both the Burchells & Hartmanns species, I don't think we ever got any closer than a thousand yards to them. 2nd safari, got them both, I was 1 happy hunter. I also love bushbucks!!!! LORD, let my bullets go where my crosshairs show. Not all who wander are lost. NEVER TRUST A FART!!! Cecil Leonard

Spot and stalk Mountain zebra in their natural habitat. After taking a Plains zebra previously, was expecting the same ease of hunting. Was very surprised at level of difficulty. Took roughly 7-8 days to finally bag one on the last day. Drought and predator pressure had an effect also.

For me it's been eland and bushbuck. Eland was something I always wanted to do just because, well, they're part of the fauna and they're huge. What surprised me, though, was how much tracking is involved, which I greatly enjoy. Now bushbuck is something that I wasn't hugely interested in until we started actually looking for them. Still-hunting through the riverine vegetation turned out to be a blast. You can be sure that in future hunts, if there are bushbuck in the area I will be hunting them!

Without question the Nile crocodile completely surprised me. They are by far one of the most switched on aniamls I've ever hunted anywhere. I've hunted them spot and stalk and on bait. In both cases it was a great hunt. They are a very underated trophy. My second choice and another animal that does not get enough credit is the spotted hyena. They are a very wary species and to target them specifically is a very interesting challenge. Mark MARK H. Yellow Backed Duiker, really exotic. Calling in thick jungle, precious little time to act. Also, the darted Rhino was super exciting. Gotta get really close, completely open shot. Fun hunt and would do it again. Steve Formerly "Nganga"

I can say from experience that most of my clients will rate Eland as #1. Many guys tell me that they didn't think too much about it until they actually did it. I tend to agree, Eland is my top PG hunt. Zebra and Croc does get very high marks as a surprisingly enjoyable hunt as well.
