There are several animals that I have no desire to hunt. These include Elephant, Leopard, Hippo, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Zebra. I guess reading Capstick, Rourke and others made me think Buffalo was the Holy Grail, but after hunting Buffalo, I probably won't do it again. What really gets me going are Eland, Gemsbok, Kudu, Warthog, Nyala, Sable, Black or Blue Wildebeest. I would love to take a Lion and Bongo as well.

I've passed up many Gold Medal trophies because the thrill of the chase wasn't there. It's the hunt that I like; I will not shoot an animal that is standing beside the trail when we just happen to be driving by in the Toyota.

I would have no desire to shoot Elephant, Hippo, or Rhino. The cats would be of interest as would Buffalo. The Kudu is the Elk of Africa and I would definately hunt them again. There are some animals that to me one is enough and they are worth waiting untill you get the opportunity for a good one. To me those are Lion,Leopard,Grizzly & Polar Bear.

My "to do" list consists mostly of bright/contrasting colors & patterns: zebra, gemsbok, springbok, kudu, leopard. Plus an impala with the upper section of the horns angling together (not parallel).

Buffalo on the second trip.

FB, That's the first time I have heard of anyone that preferred them angling together. I really hadn't even given it a thought before our trip, but I ended up shooting a really nice impala with the tips coming together. I thought it was a mighty pretty little antelope! It went 25 7/8" too! [Big Grin]

Here's a pic...
