Maybe this isnt the right forum but would anybody know what the difference in velocity between a 22" and a 24" barrel in .375H&H would be. I'm guessing not much because of the bore size but if anybody has any first hand knowledge it would be great...tia

Remington has a good ballistics table on the net at
www.remington.com/ammo/ballistics/tableinfo.htm
They show loss/gain per inch from 24" by velocity range as follows:
2000-2500 10 fps per inch
2500-3000 20 " " "
3000-3500 30 " " "
3500-4000 40 " " "
I have found this to be pretty accurate generally.

Axter,

I don't know if this helps or not, but my .375 H&H is 23" long. It shoots 300 gr. North Forks at 2500 fps with a load of 72.5 grains of RL 15. During load development, I went faster, but didn't need it.

With equal loads my 375's loose about 20 f/s per inch. There is probably more speed variation barrel to barrel that the length of the barrel.

I kind of figured it wouldnt be much considerating the bore size. I have reloaded for many years but never for .375 so I appreciate the answeres....
