No, I was just checking out her wares.

Namibiahunter: It seems to me that that open air bazaar is right next the the Namibian Supreme Court Building in Windhoek. Is that correct? (It appears that part of the Supreme Court building is in the background of the pic) Unfortunately, when we were there in July there was no such creature stalking the area!

Good eye! You got the right spot. I saw her wandering around and so I asked if she was lost or had lost something. She was kind enough to oblige me with a photo, which BTW, was taken by my 13 year old son shocker

On my May hunt for PG in north-central Namibia, the PH and tracker wore camo every day -- but no military patterns. I wore jeans and or Carhartts in gray or light brown, and no various shades of green adn blue Cabellas shirts. The PH did ask me if I could quit wearing the khaki ball cap, so I rubbed it in the dirt and gave it some instant camo. Next time, I might take a camo shirt or two, or at least something plaid, as the traditional bowhunters wear. Just breaking up shapes.

There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

That T-shirt photo was taken by Scott King at one of the Duckworth camps. Whether he "kept up" or not is another matter. dancing

30ott6: The "open air" bazaar that I referred to is a spot of ground just below the Nambian Supreme Court building (and sharing part of the area with a taxi service), where people bring their wares and goods to sell. It is not really that big. However, it is right next to a huge parking lot and two very busy streets, and is also across the street from Windhoek's downtown park. It's just very strange to see a woman like that in downtown Windhoek. I have some pictures of the same bazaar, but with my wife fully clothed in the picture. Namibiahunter's picute is a great once in a lifetime picture as far as I'm concerned.

I have to agree with Atkinson. It has been my feeling that darker hues tend to blend in betterwith shaded areas such as near bushes or under an overhanging limb.Cheers, Luke

Besides, I don't think it would have mattered anyway because my guide and tracker always got us downwind of the game and we would be able to get pretty close without being detected. More important to me was wearing pants that were thorn resistant and long-sleeved shirts to ward off thorns and protect my arms from sunburn. When I go I take only 4 changes of clothing - 3 for hunting and 1 for travelling. Sometimes I give away my clothes to the trackers rather than take them back to the States. That way I would have more room for souveniers.

What you wear or don't wear shouldn't be that big of an issue.
