No one else has said anything about this, but...
Get a nice Warthog!
My Wife thinks they are ugly, but I like them and it gives us a lot to discuss, I actually named mine after our PH! Some things are a lot safer than other topics!

I support Late-Boomer's suggestion of a black wildebeest. It is endemic to south Africa where you are hunting. Your next trip(s) may be to other countries where the other species listed also occur.

Basically: You will be in South Africa - place some priority to hunt what you can only hunt in that country: Black wildebeest + bontebok + Cape grysbuck will cost you less than an eland and afford much more hunting! These you can only properly hunt in South Africa - grab the opportunity!

But I also agree that while hunting one should take any superior trophy that you may have the good luck to chance upon.

Whatever enjoy your hunt and stay. Waidmannsheil!

After a few years of participation on forums, I have learned that:

One can cure:

Lack of knowledge – by instruction. Lack of skills – by practice. Lack of experience – by time doing it.

One cannot cure:

Stupidity – nothing helps! Anti hunting sentiments – nothing helps! Put-‘n-Take Outfitters – money rules!

My very long ago ancestors needed and loved to eat meat. Today I still hunt!
