I have never heard of anyone losing an animal, of any kind to malaria; it is confirmed that there are different strains of malaria parasites but each strain develops differently according to its host.

I wouldn't be placing any bets on this 'miracle pill' just yet.

I am not sure how to take your comments. If the research proves to be valid, this is great news.

That would be great news for the people who suffer and die from this disease. No need to worry about how, many more millions of people would affect the animals and their populations in Africa or anywhere else. People first, after all, faster population growth in Africa or anywhere, isn't a 100% guarantee to mean the end of the line for a lot of animals and habitat. None of us can see the future. I'm guessing that's what Jdollar meant.
