Guys, that rogue Elephant bull next to the Kruger is still causing a few headaches...We have a deadline of 24 Sept to book this hunt, after that it is down to Parks board to finish him of.

We got the ok to offer this hunt at $25 000.00 all incl, in an effort to get someone over to hunt him!

For those who can't remember the detail. It is a mature 30 year old bull, but with only about 30-35lbs on each side....Max stay is 10 days, and will have to happen in the next couple of weeks.....Cites and Hunting permits are sorted, just waiting for a name and destination!!!!! Plains Game and Buff available on the same trip....but the Elephant is the main priority, and nothing else will be looked at untill he is down.

Terms and conditions apply.

I look forward to hear from you. Please direct all inquiries to info@infinito-safaris.com or PM me, for more detailed info.

Since this is such an obvious problem for you, I will be more than happy to go and sort this ele for you. I only require that you pay for airfare, meals, quarters, and a per diem of $100.00 USD per day.

Sorry buddy, the meals, lodging, permits, transport, booze, tax, good company, delivery of goods to Taxidermy,PH, skinning, tracking and much more is already incl. in what I think is not a bad deal at all! Wink

Just pay the deposit, sign the contract, get on plane, and come over! Big Grin

I just hate to see Parks Board rangers shoot Ellies for nothing, while I know there are a few "big guns" out there that will give a lot to shoot one. The problem is the time limit, I know, so we try and advertise it everywhere to get maximum response!

Dear Sir,

I hope you are able to sell this hunt but with all due respect $25K for a PAC ele hunt seems a bit high.

Take a look at the advertized prices at www.cmsafaris.com. One can do a true trophy ele hunt of 10 days all included in areas that regularly produce ivory of 30lb plus for as little as $17K. For $27K all included one can have a 14day hunt in Matetsi where 50lb plus is common.

This may be what the market bares in S.A. but it's hard to understand why.

Best regards;
Brett

Your generous offer is too expensive to the 10th power. For that price a guy can expect a bull of about twice that weight in Zim with Dudley Rogers or Jumbo Moore, airfare included.

I do share your sentiments, and thanks for the input guys, unfortunately that is what it is priced at. I wish I could say there are too many Elephant bulls available next to the Kruger that can make prices a bit cheaper. If the new legislation gets passed early in 2007, then this would probably be the last Elephant to be hunted next to the Kruger in SA, not that it matters to a lot of people, we will just go hunt them in Zim and Mozambique, but that is the pricing factor at the moment.

This is SA, and a specific animal, hence the price. We are haggling with the powers to be to see if we can get it even further down...

If there are serious interest in this hunt- e-mail me, and let me see what I can do to accommodate you......I might even throw in a flight from JFK to Jo-burg for $25K

Well buddy apparently you have never experienced a "Double Rugged" safari adventure with Ganyana. Regular meals are an almost non-existent fairy tale, lodging is a sleeping bag and a cot (who really needs a tent anyway?), and as for permits $100.00 USD in Zim gets you everything except honorable election results and SA isn't too far behind. How much is it worth to get my kidneys beat out of my body by your old backie? I'll bring my own booze to avoid the Old Mull offering and don't really see much need for drinking on safari anyways. I could care less about the company, give me the fire and leave me to my thoughts. Piss on the taxidermy, I have a camera. As for the ph, well, in SA that doesn't really amount to much, I could qualify to be a SA ph. Skinning my arse! Within an hour their will be more than enough locals with old rock-sharpened blades to perform their African ginsu trick on the beast to render it into dinner. Tracking, really? A crippled blind man with one foot in the grave can track an elephant, besides didn't you say he was hanging out right outside Kruger? How hard can he be to find? "Much more" is to vague for me to pick apart. Hells bells buddy, I think we got this sucker whittled down to just about $8,000.00 USD. Whatcha think?

By "sucker" he was refering to the hunt, not to you personally. Just some outdated USA slang.

Anyway your price seemes a bit high. It would be OK at half the price.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Infinito, I don't want to turn this into another SA PH vs SA PH thing and I should probably keep this for myself but I do believe you were a little quick to jump onto your high horse here. The post read: "Hells bells buddy, I think we got this sucker whittled down to just about $8,000.00 USD." Surely this was not a reflection on you but to the hunt and the elephant.

The international market doesn't like your prices either!

I know local guys that would've been prepared to negotiate a price with you, but since you don't hunt with SA hunters, tough luck, opportunity missed.

What this boils down to is a PAC hunt that can be had elsewhere for less than 8,000.00 all inclusive. I am planning one in March 2007 for that price with an option to take a buffalo as well.

Chris, no offense taken, my apologies to BWN300MAG, I read the thing wrong.Thank you for pointing that out....I have always been big enough to say I'm sory when I am.....

As I stepped on a nerve here, I will gladly remove the thread tonight, after some more of you read this to get the apology. I still stick what I say though, and Springtrap, no SA hunter is interested in that Elephant, as an Outfitter that deals with SA hunters is marketing it with that community. I did get a few PM on this Elephant that showed interest, and one long standing respecting member had the manners of voicing his opinion in a PM.

Infinito,

Sorry if you took my comments the wrong way. It was not my intention to call you a sucker. As has been previously stated above, I was referring to the hunt and not you, I thought that was pretty clear.
As for the rest, you did not really think you could post a PAC quality hunt for trophy quality prices and not expect to get called out on it. Did you? As has been stated many, many times before, this is a public forum and as such, we are permitted to make any comment we want regarding any post we want (Thanks Saeed). If you do not like the comments your posts receive, you are free to take your $25,000.00 ball and go home.

That is about all I have to say about that.

As I said, I never thought it would offend anyone, and we get PAC Ellies to hunt in Zim, and are familiar with the prices, BUT this is SA, and they are expensive over here. As I said, that is the price, if you do not like it so be it...but why make such a big fuss out of it. I did get some interest though, so not EVERYONE think the same way. I'll take the thread of, if I can.

Don't take things wrong here but when you post an offer, you should expect that the it will be picked apart on price, quality of hunt, PH quality etc. That is what this forum is about. There are many very experienced African hunters here and their opinion is what makes this site so relevant, especially for hunters with no or limited experiece hunting Africa.

I know a couple of SA safari operators and they seem to have little trouble filling their dangerous game schedules with American, Europian or Asian hunters even though SA prices are half again or double the prices of some other African countries. I just don't understand why SA prices are so much higher than other countries. Perhaps you can explain. I for one appreciate your posting your hunt here even though it is out of my league as far as cost goes.

Thank you, you are a gentleman and a scholar 465H&H.

I will try and explain. As far as this particular Elephant goes, it is a rogue animal, short notice. It was not on our quota 4 weeks ago. There are not a lot of Ellies that goes on permit next to the Kruger each year. Demand sets price. It is high, but not high for SA elephant Bull with teeth...30lbs or not.

What I will do next is this. Each and every year there are some Outfitters that do NOT fill there bag/quota. They then tender it out to other Outfits at very decent prices, or shoot the game themselves. I do not think a PH will tell you pre-season that he did not book his full quota.

Thus it so happens that we have Elephant, Lion, leopard, Buff and Sable, and other PG at the end of each year, on short notice to hunt at very affordable rates. But the day fees are much higher than in SA, because we need to take the whole infrastructure with us. Then it is like any hunt with any outfit in Tan, Zim, Bots or Moz. You pay the day rates, and we hunt the concessions. You shoot what you want to shoot, and everything has got its price. It is not ONE specific animal.

So I will post these, more affordable MOZ and ZIM packages, and see if the guys still are unhappy about them. Just please do not think I am joking when I post them, every offer is a real one, and our business name is at stake any other way...

One thing in this business is for sure. You get cheaper here, and dearer there, but, if you want to hunt DG, it is an expensive sport (way of living), and will cost you serious money.

So please have a look at your diaries, and I will advertise some more affordable hunts, that need to be filled by the end of November, and it is not in South Africa....
