Now if the other, bigger-tusked elephant that Aaron saw on his recent safari would wander from Zimbabwe over to Khaudum, Namibia and if those huge leopards would simply hop a plane from Tanzania to join us we would have a grand old time.

Man-That is some pretty darn good shooting. 50 yards might as well be a mile to me.

Past thirty I am better off shooting my bow.

Do not get antsy if you are not seeing elephant behind every tree. North of Khaudum has given up some great elephants in the past, you just have to wait for them to come out of the park.

Aaron - all I can say that driving Robgunbuilder's 750grain bullets @ 1,900 - 2,000fps is my fun "plinking" load.

In all seriousness, if you can shoot a 577 you can shoot a 600 just as well.

Though I wasn't kidding about the 750s ...

Cell reception there is likely to be good enough that you can keep us updated if you want. Maybe not daily, without SAT phone, but any time you guys drive out to the highway.

The zebra there are beautiful, but there were none on quota when I was last there.

What brand/carrier cell phone should I pick up for over there and where should I get it?
Certainly makes more sense and would be less expensive than the Sat phone.

Let's see if Verizonwireless does a better job for me this time than the last. I have my sat phone so no worries should I really need to "reach out and touch someone". Hopefully if I do it will be to share some notes of success.

The route (SAA and Air Namibia):
JFK --> Jo-Berg --> Windhoek --> Rundu --> Karl's 'Cruiser (hopefully filled with petrol in the tank and air in the tires) --> Khaudum Safari Camp North.

According to Biebs and Elk88101, it's the last leg that should worry me.

Please make sure you have a ggod sun screen. It is very hot at the moment. We wish you good hunting. Keep the cartridge as there is a guy in Germany who can coat it with sterling silver or 24c gold plus engrave the particulars on it.

Yes - me and my pop. 72 years old, had half his right lung removed for cancer in May, went back to work on the docks 2 1/2 weeks after that. Now will teach me once again, how to do it right in Africa.

Some nice shooting with that Flanged 375 Doc. Did you have it regulated for that specific load?

In answer to your question, no I did not specify a regulation load. In fact it was regulated ammo not available in the united states but shoots everything from 235 to 350 grains just as well.

300 grain Kynoch. I should have said "not readily available since someone probably does import them at a ridiculous price.

YEah, there is an outfit in Colorado that imports them, say for WR's online store. Costs almost as much for a FIVE PACK that for an entire box of 20 loaded by Hornady. Piece of cake to order the brass from Bertram and Woodleighs from Huntingdon's and load them yourself to regulation speed. I have a plan...

Do keep the catridges of the bullet. You can have it gilded and all particulars engraved on it.
