I understand and agree with you. Sometimes people are in need of help. Most of them aren't made famous by being the center of an incident that makes the news. Most of them aren't in a position to be helped by the other people involved. Most of them don't get any help because they are anonymous. Most of them need help much more than Punki, who has the Boddingtons.

If I had seen a few threads for some unknown tracker that was stomped by an Elephant or gored by a Buffalo I might be more understanding. If this story or incident would have happened to a Joe Blow hunter no one on this forum would care. It is only the fame of the participants that makes this a cause.

That would be my point. Why are there donations at all? Where are the threads asking for donations to the families of the White Settlers in Zim that have been injured or killed by the 'War Vets'? Where are the threads asking for donations for Game scouts that have been killed by Poachers in Zim?

They don't exist because they don't involve famous people. How many people here donated to Rolf Rohr when he was mauled by a Lion? How many people here donated to Alain Lefol when he was in jail in Chad? Not many because they weren't famous writers.

The reason I have allowed these threads to continue because it concerns an individual who is already a member of these forums.

Craig has been a member for a number of years.

Others have posted threads asking for donations for people who have no involvement here.

Other threads asking for donations, which concerned members of AR, have been allowed to continue.

Some raffles, which we judged to be for a good cause, have been allowed to run for months.

So saying that this was only allowed because of Craig is not correct at all.

Funny, when they were rushing Punki to the hospital, and he was obviously in danger of bleeding to death, and he was being held and kept alert by a white Zimbabwean who has lost his farm, and by two white women, one involved in the incident and one not, the only issue was where the best care might be received, not the color of his skin. Very odd to me how some people think...Fortunately, most of you seem to understand the totality of the situation, and to you we are grateful.

For GOD SAKE guests antoganists and others whom the cap fits, please put your brain into gear ..

This is not a rich man poor man black man white man or any other connotation or slant we want to put on it.

This is a case where (whatever the reason or circumstances) an innocent HUMAN has been seriously wounded doing what they love and enjoy.

There is absolutely no compulsion or pressure to donate being put on anyone, it is a heartfelt request for those whom want to assist to come forward only if they choose. Catigating and slanting people is not the appropriate thing to do IMHO

I also paid off the local little leagues bills when a board member stole all of their money. Where is the "stardust" in that? Please don't lump me in with Adrook. If you would check you would find my opinions to him and about him are pretty plain. I have never, in anyway, suggested Brittany Boddington was at fault for what happened. I am not a person who believes Shit happens, but accidents do. Having spent over 4 years living in Central Africa I know better than most here how things can go wrong.

I'm not going through my giving or community service record. I think It's rediculous that you're giving people a hard time for helping someone. Who cares why they do it? It's the right thing to do, so be glad they are helping. The only reason I can figure anyone would complain about someone helping someone else is because you are picking up Adrook's Boddington axe to grind. Let it be and I'm sure you'll see similar responses for others in need.

Colonel-Klink, You are obviously an honorable,honest man and have stated your point well. If I am ever unlucky enough to get shot in my line of work I can only hope it is by someone like yourself.
I know that Craig Boddington is also an honest and honorable man and I have no doubt his daughter was raised the same. I know she has to be suffering from the accident and the family is doing what they can.
The bottom line is that the entire thing is up to the parties involved. Not us. I certainly would not have any trepidation about hunting with Brittany.

Are you the Phil Shoemaker who had the article about the M16 in this month's Rifle magazine? If you are, that was a good article. I found it much more interesting than the typical "What is the Best All Around Caliber" type of articles that are usually published.

I don't post alot, as all can see, but I am finally compelled to chime in here.

I can't for the life of me understand why a story like this seems to bring out the worst in some people. Well, I guess I understand but it disgusts me.

Arguing, even to the point of name calling, is one thing when it's a simple matter of opinion. If a man can't take a little grief for his choice of favorite caliber, action type, camo pattern, etc., he needs to grow a thicker skin.

But what I have seen in some of these posts is totally out of line. A few seem to take some kind of pleasure in kicking a man and his daughter while they are down.

Craig, it is a shame that you have to read some of this garbage (and I hope that Brittany does not) but I am truly impressed with the class and restraint you have shown in your replies. I think someone, somewhere here, already said it but you sir are a true gentleman. Best wishes to Brittany and the others involved, especially Punki.

First of all, I would like to say that Craig and his daughter do not owe the tracker one red cent! Accidents happen in every line of work, and that's just part of life.

However, when a person posts his private business on an internet forum, it is natural for others to post comment. If Craig wanted to keep this matter private, he would not have posted about it, so I see nothing wrong with other people posting too.

All one of the mods would have to do is check the ISP address of the computer in which they are/were posting from. Not 100% (diff computers, etc) but that usually solves that!

If I ever am unfortunate to have an accident like this I won't need your contribution. For an additional $185/year my Homeowners Insurance covers me for $500,000 per person and $1,000,000 per incident.

It also covers items broken by accident but not stolen, like rifles and such.

You probably also have coverage and don't even know it.

Check it out. If you are not covered than get a new agent.

As for this forum donating to some nameless Black man who is injured on a hunt by a nameless member, I doubt it. It seems like it was about 4 years ago a tracker was stomped by and Elephant and all we read here was 'poor fellow'.

Larry wasn't pounding his chest.

He was answering questions from those who seem to have problems with helping others.

In my experience, those are the same lot who come crying for help if they got into a fix.

That is life I am afraid.
