505 gibbsMy taxidermist uses his every year when he goes to Zim, they always have a blast and have killed some cool animals, I believe he uses a cottontail.

You'd be surprised at what you can call.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

Bwana MojaYou mean varmint right? The trackers just make the calls with their mouth.
Last October in Ethiopia, Nassos used a mouth call for my husband's hyena.
In 2005,Lemco Zimbabwe, PH Wayne Williamson used a tape call of lions fighting hyenas. Our friend Mike (KB1 here on AR) shot a hyena. The lions were roaring and grunting in the distance, they seemed really agitated by the tape.

300magmanI tried one of the primos squeaker calls last time. I was the only one in camp to not have a shot at a jackal. I did not have very good luck with the call.

h kittleWe used one in Zim on my first hunt. Forgot to take on on the last one.
We called in a civit that now adornes my office wall. He is one cool mount.
Will not forget again.

WebsterMy PH had a Foxpro that we used in Zim last Sept. Called in Lion & Lioness and Hyena, took the hyena, did not try for any of the smaller varmints. Pretty interesting with the hyena call, he came running in wide open. Webster

Bryan ChickI always thought that would be a good idea: asked my PH last May and I believe that he said it was illegal to call lion and leopard(Zim). At least I think that is what he said.

Use Enough GunI've called in a number of animals in Africa with mine. I wouldn't travel to Africa without it, and it's going back with me in one week.

Equinsu OchaI plan on taking a few calls with me to Zim in Oct.. Hyena is high on my list on this trip..
Ive never had any luck on any of the predators, but I have called in a few duikers and even a klipspringer with a few wails on a jackrabbit call.

RidgemanI've used a Tenterfield Fox whistle several times in Zim and Namibia to cal up Duiker , Jackels and Civets. Left the last one with my PH in Namib and he continues to use it for Duiker with good success.

BigBBearLegal depends on where you are hunting but if memory serves me right it is 100% illegal to use an electronic caller in Tanzania.
Zim, SA, different story.

Use Enough GunI use the T-Rex predator call and it is the best. Made in good old Arizona!

I used a jackrabbit call in Namibia for leopard and varmits. Nothing came to the call.

strapmanI just returned from Namibia the other day. A fella in the group had a FoxPro and had a warthog squeal (at least that is what he told me) on his unit. It worked great. We called in 4 jackals in less than an hour. I was extremely impressed. By the way, a 300 mag with Barnes Triple Shock bullets doesn't do the pelt any good.
Both elk diaphram calls and rabbit squeelers worked well in Namibia on all predators, especially jackals. Even called in a hyena. Curiosity (and a 222 mag.

) killed this African Wild Cat, which was #6 SCI. Haven't checked where it is now for a while.

AlloutJust go out in the bush and yell, "FREE BEER AND FOOD!" You will be surprised how many "varmits" appear out of nowhere.
