I am trying to locate 2 pieces of tanned elephant preferrably, buffalo or maybe Ostrich, 26"x26" for panel coverings on a custom entry door for a friends new trophy room. I thought I could help him but my hides are cut at odd angles that don't allow getting proper sized panels. He is going to glue and press these to the lower inset panel on the entry side of the room. This should look super, upper panels are glass that his Fiance' will do acid or sandblasted etching African scene. Any help you can give me would certainly be appreciated. Please feel free to PM me and I will gladly call you. He will pay good price for these panels and are urgently needed, ie door is ready now!! Thanks Much...

You could buy a bunch of elephant wallets from Will in the classifieds and stack them up Big Grin

I was at a Harley Davidson swap meet of all places the other day and there was a guy there with a bunch of tanned hippo. I was going to talk to him about it, but when I went back, he'd bugged out. I'm kicking myself now, because it was nice. Wish I could help you, but my hippo hide is still in Bulaways being tanned.

Hello Friends-Search is OVER!!
Well my buddy got his skins from a local friend that had some remnants...nothing that will go 26x26". Interestingly when he showed us his duster length elephant coat with some very fine stitching and seams, he decided that a single panel wasn't necessary and that a boarder of black leather with some other stitched seams will really set off the door panels.

Thanks so much for your offers and great comments...there are lots of good friends out there willing to help other hunters. Thanks Again.
