Steve, as you said, its gonna happen, if we like it or not. i also had 2 clients shoot soft bossed buffalo by mistake, this does not mean we should start liking it. We should always endeavour to do better. Going back to the 70 incher potsed above, I still do not believe its a 70 incher, but even if it is, when i have a client lined up on such a bull, he will make the decision to pull the trigger, not me. I will have given him the best guidance that I can, in other words, how long I judge it (over 60 inches), is it a good bull for the area (its a excellent bull for any area),and also that I do not believe its not very old. He/ she can then decide to shoot it or not, without ANY pressure from me. If it is a 55 inch mature bull though, I would definately increase the pressure. Too many PH's just pressure clients shoot bulls like these to get bragging rights on length alone, and to pocket the money of course. Is there any clients out there that would have declined such a bull?

Then on your comment as to websites, you must refer to either myself or Charl, as it seems we are the only ones with cahunas. Why do you not enlighten us what exactly you do not like? Bear in mind that my website has been virtually unchanged since 2004, and I do know that it needs some update. As you are into that sort of thing, what would you do different?

Karl,

It wasn't what I liked or didn't like. It's not my place to comment unless asked, but I was only referring to points of horns pointing in a variety of directions etc.

Regarding the technical aspects of the sites. I didn't know much about it until we built the www.shakariconnection.com site, but have learned a lot in the year or so were doing it.

My guess is whoever built both sites used the same sitebuilder program, and if I'd done it, I'd probably have built it with a different and probably more technical one. - But that's by the by and might be better discussed by e-mail rather than use up Saeed's bandwidth........... you've got my e-mail address, so feel free to contact me for ideas or anything else if you wish.

We built www.shakariconnection.com with SBI - it looks to me like those two were built with something else.

If they were built with SBI, then the builder decided to 'go simple/quick' and not make use of a lot of the SBI tools etc. - Nothing wrong with that, but I'd personally have preferred a more professional look and feel. I guess it's all a matter of personal taste though.

If they were built with SBI I'd have expected to see the SBI logo on the homepage at least.

The text I quoted comes from Macromedia Dream Weaver if you look at your source code of your page then it also as the same text so at least part of your site was built in Dream Weaver.

I'll do a google on SBI and see what its all about.

Nope, no dreamweaver at all. It was all done with SBI. - There's an icon on my homepage etc. Click there and you'll find out all about it.

Steve, you never fail to amaze!

Sorry, we hunt for a living, we don't build web-sites. We try to give something on the web for people to get info about OUR business from. But it is realy the last place we generate business.

Any case. Well done and congrats with shakari connection. You and yer missus have clearly put ia lot of very hard work into that.

Hey Charl,

It wasn't meant as a criticism, I was asked a question and I answered it the way I answer all questions....... honestly....... but if your site doesn't generate much business for you, maybe my comments weren't too far off the mark. Wink Websites should reach the largest audience and be the most powerful marketing tool of all.

Certainly our website does very well for us but of course, unless we ask, one never knows if the site was the first interest generator or if the client went there after a recommendation etc. We don't do conventions or magazine ads etc, so they either come from recommendation, the website or repeat bookings etc. I admit though that we have a more unusual niche market than most though.

Glad you liked the connection site and thanks for the comment - it was a lot of hard work, but for me at least, the hardest part was learning how to do it....... and i have to say that out of the two of us, Susan is the fundi by a mile. Smiler
