The Losimingori hunt has unfortunately hit a snag in the last week as the Hurts had lost that concession this spring and appears cannot arranged to hunt it one last time. What a Bummer unfortunately

They have offered to roll the hunt over into 2023 and have us hunt on Kitumbeine which if I remember was not to far from the Sadi and Natron camp that Dean and I hunted out of. I think we hunted the foothills on the northern side Gelai around the Mexican Hat. All this sounds fine to me and would still give us the opportunity to hunt in the canopy forest for Buffalo.

There has just been an offer proposed to still hunt this Sept but in one of the Rungwa Concessions. I know zip, zero, nada about the Rungwa other than there are a lot of Buffalo in some of the units but certainly not all of them. There can be Sable found in the Rungwa from what I've read but no bushbuck like those found on Gelai or Losimmingori which was one of our real interest.

Hunting on top of Mount Gelai was quite an eye opener.

Amazing amount of animals, but very hard to see.

Did manage to shoot an old dugga boy.

The Galai experience as Saeed intimated is very special. I think it was the height of our hunt in Masailand.

In 2006 I went up Gelai to hunt buffalo and spent the 1st afternoon and an hour after dawn looking at some huge Bush-Buck along with lots of buffalo bulls hanging out in that crater. My host however became intimidated by the terrain and elected to leave that mountain by 9am that same day, I had to follow. That mountain has haunted me ever since.

I have always wanted to go back.

Losimingori was set into motion 3 years ago and then Covid hit

Now to make Lemonade from lemons in the Rungwa. It's all good when you finally pick up some tracks

I saved an extra Buffalo on license to get the chance to shoot one on Gelei. Didn’t see any Buffalo but don’t regret not shooting the 3 rd buff. Awesome experience

That’s a great video, Mark. One of my absolute favorites.
