Why do we have to hide our faces? Book with someone who is proud of hunting. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

Interesting that most of the hunters' faces are obscured. I recognize several of those trophy pictures from other websites. One in particular (a large lion) is a couple of years old and from TGTS. Which is OK if he actually books for TGTS, but not OK if he is just "using" the photo from another outfitter's website. How does one manage to get 4 buffalo on license in Tanzania? Indeed some of you are keen eyed and sharp minds! The obscured faces are probably from photos they do not have permission to use such as the TGT lions pics Terry refers and others..... also the claim that Stefano is the "undisputed" feline hunter of Tz is a novelty! 4 buff in tanzania was only possible through a "scam" operation that ex- TAWICO (Now under new excellent Management) used to offer using their "cropping" license. According to them, they have the BEST AREAS for just about everything. their claim that Selous is the BEST AREA for lion sure made me spill my coffee "...Them, they were Giants!" J.A. I checked the Cameroon offer. Even in my wildest dreams I have never seen such high prices. Everybody here is knowing the foremost outfitter in Cameroon accomodating mostly American clients royally. He is cheaper in offering the Rolls Royce hunts and certain successes. More puzzling is the lack of the exact locations of the hunting aeras. Worst one has no indication of PHs. The offers are worldwide, more than expensive, especially offering hunts in the Balkans, the former Yugoslavia and around. This is an Italian outfit........which could be run by sort of an Albanian or Serbian or any other neighbour North East of Italia. "About us" is very ........sibylline, cryptic, enigmatic, weird, anonymous????????? to put the things mildly. Who is volunteering to send them his credit card numbers ? just to be proud to be the first to provide first hand informations on this ....say atypical outfit. Or is it a joke from Saeed? After all, it's Women day today, anything might happen!!!!!!!!!!! Just wondering,...is Carmello an Italian first name??????????????? Has TAWICO split from Usangu? Or are they both under new management? Regards, Terry Msasi haogopi mwiba [A hunter is not afraid of thorns]

Terry- Tawico has been purhased by Jack Brittingham and is being onsite managed by Leon Lamprecht. Leon is a first rate person. I was told that the plan is to be ultra conservative for the first couple of years and get a real handle on game populations. Leon has moved to Arusha. I was also told that maybe for a year or so that they would market with TGT.

Terry My understanding is the same as Cranes on TAWICO. On a similiar subject to the original I considered quite a few years ago booking a safari with an RSA operator. He sent me a brochure with some excellent lions on it implying that those lions were his from the previous year of hunting along the Kruger border and also in Tanzania. Well I didn't book with him as he wanted to book me into the Moyawasi in June (season doesn't open until July) and hunting is really not viable until much later in the season. The point is that 6 years later I met a guy in Zambia that I knew from somewhere. Then it dawned on me that he was on the RSA operator's brochure with a couple of huge lions. When I approached the hunter and asked about his lions taken with the RSA PH and asked him wether they were taken on the Kruger boundary on in Moyawasi the gentleman told me that he didn't know the South African operator nor had he ever hunted in those areas. The lions were actually killed in the Rungwa area. I guess the above only is a good example of why you should do some research on the company you are considering booking with and talk to several references that have done a similiar hunt to the one you want. FYI: This RSA operator is still in business. Be careful! Mark MARK H. Unfortunately the company is Italian and the fact is confirmed by the dial code in the phone/fax number (Telephone +39 335..... Fax +39 178). The +39 identify Italy The owner is Prof. Sergiei Dimitrijevic (Serbian), I met him a pair of time, and I don't like him, a feeling problem. He is in some of the photos, one is in the photo album of bear in kamchakta hunt (left low). Hunting reports contrasting, someone happy and satisied and some absolutely not. I took a look at the price list of the outfitter with whom I hunted last year in Namibia and there is a difference of 625$ on gemsbock and 500$ on Kudu. bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

Mark's comments really ring a bell with me. I don't know if it's the case with this Italian agent or not and I'm not suggesting it is..... but photo theft really is a problem in this business nowadays. We've had our images stolen from our website a few times over the years. Which is why I don't post (important) pics here or elsewhere anymore. Instead I just put a link to the relevant page of our website. The images there are unrightclickabe (if that's a word!) I'm sure a fundi could hijack them if he really wanted to but I loke to make it difficult at least. We've only recently managed to get our photos removed from one site (after a year of asking) that offered giraffe and nyala hunting in Tanzania. For those that don't know, giraffe can't be hunted there and nyala don't occur.....

Steve, Sadly my guess was accurate, I suspected an Italian company run by an Albanian or a Serbian. It was just a guess. I wonder if these crook companies manage to hook some suckers? It's no pocket change they are asking? J B de Runz Be careful when blindly following the masses ... generally the "m" is silent

My opinion, don't loose time with this agent, stay away from them, you will save time, money and your liver, making happy your wallet and your health. bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

A good option to stop people stealing photos is to imbed the name of your Safari Co or whatever across it. That way (I think) they can't post it on their site without posting the original companies name accross the photo.
