Wow! Those are nice. Especially the second one. How much did each of them weigh?

Steve : I dont know the weight but it isnt as much as one can think.. The elephants are much smaller and the ivory is very thin.

Bill: I agree with you..A Bongo / Elephant hunt in that thick stuff cant be wrong ! A dream hunt also for me.

I think the second elephant was taken with Mike Currie and he told me it was 14kg. Hard to believe.

If you go with Mayo Oldiri or Nsok, and hunt Elephant and duikers, the whole package, including trophy fees, charter, international flight and shipping to your taxidermist and tips can cost 50 to 55K.

Aziz

Those are the best looking 14kg tusks I have ever seen!

Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Are those exportable to the US? I know the leopards aren't and I believe the lions aren't as well.

I believe you are correct about the elephants not being importable.

I don't believe there are restrictions on lion trophies into the US from anywhere.

Elephants and leopards no, lions yes.

Wow! Those look way bigger than 14K=30.8lbs. I knew they weren't going to be as heavy as the elephants are small, but.... Eeker

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.
