| Hard decision. I love my Model 70's and have had absolutely no problems with them. I have shot elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, and a host of plains game and small duikers with them in my DG calibers. The Kimber is a great gun as well. Just a matter of personal preference, I suppose. |

| I would go with the Winchester. They have been there and done that, which is a winner in my book.
Mink and Wall Tents don't go together. Especially when you are sleeping in the Wall Tent. DRSS .470 & .500

| The current Kimber website lists nothing larger than a 338 Win. Mag, so unless you have some reason to believe that Kimber will offer the 8400 in dangerous game calibers, the answer would be Winchester by default. Of course, the original Kimber did have some limited production dangerous game offerings, but I have read that there were sporadic quality issues there (of course Winchester has as well). I have a model 70 that I like very well, and recommend. |

| I have no reason to dislike the Kimber, I have held one but have never shot one. I own and used two Model 70's in Africa and would highly reccomend them. Mine were .416 Remington for Buffalo and .358 STA for plains game. Both served me well, and hopefully will again someday. Good shooting.

| Unless Kimber changes their design, and starts producing heavy rifles -- NO! I have a 270 WSM in the synthetic version -- kicks like a mule. They'd have to almost double the weight of their rifles to make it suitable for a large caliber.
