Going on my first safari to africa very soon in May, is it worth using a meet and great service for our arrival at Joburg? I have read several posts and everyone from the USA seems to think they are worth it, nut has anyone from the Uk ever used them, or wished they had? if we don't use them how easy is it to run the gauntlet? As we have to catch a connecting flight to PE shortly after arriving.

Paul,

It doesn't matter what country you are from the potential problems at JIA are the same. It is very late to start the process but contacting Air 2000 would be well worth it.

Paul,

You will struggle to get this done from the UK TBH. in addition to lack ofd time the other reason being your required "reimport" document that is available in the USA as the 4457. Here in the UK you will get a document from the customs officer at the airport which you take with you. It is very easy and they gave it to me without asking last time.

You will also have far fewere hunters on a flight from the UK rather than the states so queues are much shorter to nonexistent by all accounts. Me and my mate were the only hunters on our plane comingin and the queue was 4 people leaving jo'burg.

If you are flying out of Heathrow (probably T4) then go straight to the airline check in and tell them you are travellign with Firearms. They will usually take you to the fromt of the queue, check you in, then check the guns. Apart from my trip to Madrid, I have never had a problem.

Where are you hunting and who with? I'm sure you will have a great time. Just roll with it and everything will be fine. Drop me a PM if you want to chat about details.

Oh & have a cold castle for me!!!
