I enjoy my Blasers!!! They are safe, accurate and do the job. You guys can make fun of them but they are the safest rifle on the market! Guns and hunting

I used an R8 in Botswana in Sept. The bolt took a bit of practice to get used to but the biggest problem I had was the safety. I managed to take it off after some practice but I had a real problems re-engaging it. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP

It takes practice and it is designed to be difficult as you are manually cocking the firing pin. Excellent platform and I am super fast on cycling the bolt. Mike

You have discovered that the Blaser was designed and made by non hunters! The safety was made to protect you from yourself.

The safety is the best part of the Blaser. It is totally safe if it is not cocked. It’s perfect for climbing in and out of tree stands, driving around or even leaving in a motel room (in a case). It is the only gun I don’t unload everything I get in and out of a car or tree stand ect. I just remove the firing mechanism / trigger. Mike

Exactly! Designed by idiots for idiots! How come non of us hunting and shooting practically every day of our lives never had any problems with NORMAL guns? Why do we need a stupid system with an extremely dangerous locking mechanism to save us from our own stupidity? I hope non of this happens to any of you Blaser lovers!

Mike, You keep proving my point! The original bolt action was invented years ago, and the basic design hardly changed at all. Stupid designs need to be changed very often. Just like wha Blaser is doing!

Would have been more impressive and convincing if that little group was in the red (that's where you were aiming - don't deny it).

Don’t so hard on Mike. He is good man. His only problem is likes Blasers and fishing!

Just chain-pulling, you know me. And mind you, those Blasers are not as bad as some make them out to be. My only criticism (and have first-hand experience of this) is that they do not like dust (the earlier models didn't anyway).

My very first experience of a Blaser on safari was like this. Walter got himself on in 7x64. Now, it would not be fun letting him using it without something going wrong. So I thought I will load him very inaccurate ammo to start with on the range as we sight in our rifles first day. Well, this was not as easy as I had thought. I went as far as loading .277 caliber ballets in his .284 caliber rifle. Still shot about 3 inches at 100 yards. That won’t do. Drastic measures were called for. So I thought I might try using a Dremmel tool and remove some weight from some of the bullets. Starting with 140 grain bullets, I ended up with some like 80, 95, 108, 122, 130 etc. Worked like a charm! 5 feet groups at 100 yards! To make sure I knew which ones these are, I used CCI BR primers on them. For those not familiar with these, they have a tiny stamp on the primer saying BR. One has to look for it to see it. We arrived in Matetsi, and Roy was informed of this, as well as everyone else in the party. Walters first shot hit the top corner of the target box. Missing the target by at least a foot. Second one hit the box at the opposite end! Walter was cursing and swearing! Blaming my loading ability! Third shot hit the target. Fourth hit the ground half way between us and tha target. By this time Walter was hopping mad! During the hunt, he was about to shoot a warthog. This was standing among some rocks of the same color. Walter had difficulty seeing it. First shot he missed it. Second shot he wounded it. Then the fun started. He pulled the straight bolt back far enough to eject the empty, but mot far enough to pick a loaded round! CLICK! I was rolling on the ground. Walter was screaming his head off! Ne t he pulled the bolt back, and just nodged it forward. The bolt did not lock. Another CLICK! This is a classic Blaser hunt!

What awesome guns blaser are that they can shoot 3 inch groups with .277 bullets in .284 barrels. Awesome rifles Mike

That is just dialing the scope up - them damn blasers shoot. I have to shoot targets on environmentally bad styrofoam picnic plates so I can better observe holes in holes Mike

Saeed, you sure have me laughing this Christmas morning in the New Mexico desert! Your scheme was diabolically brilliant. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
