Here is a link for those how shoot the .470 NE. Apparently Midway has a sale on this along with a bunch of other unusual cartridges. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=304237

Not sure but the deal is on TB sledgehammers which are monolithic. Someone tell me but I assume that these rounds would be bad for DR's. I found some of the exact ammo for $140 a box if any of you guys are in NC and want to go pick it up or he might mail it to you. Regards, Larry York, SC

The Sledgehammers are lead core, quite accurate and shouldn't hurt a double. From Federal's website: Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer® Solid features a solid lead core that is fusion-bonded* to a bronze jacket. It does not expand or lose its core even when striking bone. This bullet is used for large and dangerous game. Kyler

My .470 NE was regulated by the manufacturer with Federal's Trophy Bonded Sledgehammers.

So I gather that TB sledgehammers would be safe in any double. True?? York, SC

BigBBear: I don't know about in any double, but they sure work in mine. By the way, thanks for the information on the Sledgehammers. I bought both boxes.
