I'm surprised at the number fish and game photos that still use the old photography trick of holding a fish out at arm's length, or perching the hunter way back at the tail end (or even further back), in order to make the fish or horns/antlers etc. look bigger.

All I can see are fingers as wide as the person's head (for fish photos), or a tiny head floating way off in the distance (for game photos).

I've always thought a nice fish or a decent buck/bull/ram etc was a great trophy in their own rights and deserved to be shown in a more realistic context without resorting to tricks to make them appear larger.

Except for greenhorns, most experienced fishermen or hunters can tell a good trophy from a great trophy just by looking at the critter.

I always appreciate what I've caught or shot for what they are and try and take pictures that give a more accurate view of the animal.
A 32" buffalo is a 32" buffalo and making its head look larger than a human does not change that fact.

Appreciate and record the animal for what it is.

I prefer taking photos of the animals themselves.

Only reason I am in the photos is for my professional hunter.

I have to agree, all that holding the trophy way out just cheapens the shot, especially with fish. But, to each his own.

I agree people can do what they want, but I think the forced perspective is a bit like a 50-year-old dude showing up to his high school reunion with a toupee and a new Corvette... but then again, have you been to an SCI show recently ...?

That is obviously a nice buff - maybe 40 +, but in that picture the rifle looks to be 10
feet long. LOL

Nothing stuck in mr craw, just an observation.

Yes life is good. A new rifle on order .375 Ruger Guide Gun. Plus I just had a fantastic meal at Moonlight BBQ in Owensboro, KY. Love that burgoo!
