Zim trophy's
Does anyone know has there been any movement of Zim trophy's. I haven't seen or heard anything about them lately on AR and I'm wondering If there are any moving. Freight Consultants out of Bulawayo said all the permits etc. were in place for mine to be shipped and they were waiting for a price from their shipper in South Africa. That was 6 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything since. I'm just curios if anyone else out there has received their shipment yet.The last I had heard was that there were 3800 trophy shipments backed up in Zim

I also received word from Taxidermy Enterprises that my trophies were ready to go. However, due to the length of time they were delayed, I am now awaiting a renewal of my leopard CITES. I applied for a renewal in June and have not received any word to date. I plan to call next week.

I also, would like to know if anyone has received their trophies since the Zim paperwork change.

I am still waiting. Buzz Charlton informed me that trophies are still stuck due to paperwork change.
What can we do? Just waiting.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Contact, contact, contact. Who you know will be the only thing that expedites shipping at this point. As for CITES, make a call and your likely to wind up at the bottom of the list. They could care less what your story is. The workload is overwhelming and it is my understanding they have one agent approving apps. We're all in the same boat but shore is within sight.
Cheers,
David

Dear Shirley

We only just got back the new format CITES for this client and he is now going to the bank.

We have been informing him regarding the delays with National Parks

We anticipate he should be ready to go in the next 4-6 weeks

Regards

Lily

I did call F&G regarding my CITES renewal and the gentleman was very nice. He checked and told me my CITES was being reviewed for approval and should be good to go on Friday. He actually told me to call back on Friday to verify.

Permits are coming out of the Bulawayo permits office at an ever improving rate. Still some hiccups but they are getting there. Main problem is Investigations branch with pre shipment inspections. They are managing only a dozen or so crates per week. The association is working on it!

I don't mind, in fact I trust You all. Zimbabwean PHs are serious pros and they know how to beat the odds huntingwise and administationwise.

1000 crates divided by 12 per week. That's 83 weeks before the permits are issued for the last crate, this doesn't count the usual weeks and weeks of waiting on the expiditers sitting on their hands, this whole situation is unexceptable. You guys in Zim need to start making more noise or the bookings are going to go down. Hunters want their trophies, it's a big part of the hunt and when they don't know if they will ever get them they are going to hunt somewhere else.
