Anyone considering his or her first hunting safari may want to attend a seminar for first timers. It will be held at SCI's convention in Las Vegas on Thursday next week from 10 am to noon. (Check the schedule for location.)

It's SCI's longest-running (23 years) and one of its most popular seminars.

The panel includes the leading experts in their respective fields. They are:

Craig Boddington, author and TV host, speaking on arms and ammo for Africa.

Jack Atcheson, Jr., speaking on what to do in Africa to assure the best taxidermy, and how to get your trophies home.

Johan Calitz, resected dangerous game hunting outfitter, speaking on what your outfitter and PH expect from you, and what you should expect from them.

Beverly Wunderlich, of B&J Adventures and Safaris, speaking on how a booking agent can save you money and heartaches.

Ludo Wurfbain, publisher of Sports Afield and owner of Safari Press, with suggestions on what to read before, during and after your safari.

I will be the moderator again. Hope to see you there.

Bill,

In your opinion is it worthwhile for a person to attend who has been on one or two safaris already? I'm just curious if the info is only pertinent for those who have never been.

Respectfully,

Jon

This seminar is a really good one and should be a "don't miss" for first time African goers. Look at the list of contributors and you can surly see, there is most likely some info most of us could gleen from this group of professionals in their fields.

Jon:

As Larry says, there may be something the panelists can provide that is new for "old hands." It really is designed for first timers, though. If you've ever wanted to ask Craig Boddington or one of the others a question, here's your chance. There's a brief Q&A period after each presentation.
