I'm with you all the way on that. Crop raiding elephants and stock killing cats - okay for night shooting; sport hunting on safari - not quite cricket, what!
BTW, is the tusk on the right side in the photo above, bound far up with black tape, showing signs of bullet damage? See how it kind of tapers down where it should be thickest. Great pity if this is damage to such a wonderful trophy.

It was taken with Thys de Vries in Tsholotsho south is what I was told by Peter Waddelow who is a friend of the PH and partners with him sometimes.

just because Angola gets CITES export permits does not mean USFW will issue import permits- fact is, they probably won't until legally forced to by the courts- witness the situation in Moz. you can shoot one there but can't bring it back to US, although import is possible to other countries.

yukon deltaUnderstood. My main point was that in light of some of the stressful things happening in the safari industry, a re-opening would be nice...problematic no doubt but still positive.
