This man is a greenie and anti hunting, but he came to realise why the Ban on Lion hunting contributed to the decline in the Lion population of Botswana. I am prepared to talk to him as he understands the role hunting is playing in conservation even though he does not hunt himself

Very important point made here for all the anti hunters : You don't have to like hunting or even understand how people can do it , to realise that hunting is an important conservation tool. Be thankful that there are people that do enjoy it , will pay for it , and aid conservation in the process.

Because it's frowned upon by Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) farmers do not report incidences and use the most cheapest and worst means possible - poisoning. Herdsmen and farmers say it better to gut shoot or mortally wound and let the thing go die far away. As this doesn't invite further enquiries and leaves them in peace...

Wowo, you are so right, we as hunters and more specific trophy hunters are very often blamed for the diminishing numbers of wildlife. I have personally witnessed years ago a vegetable farmer shooting every animal that he saw to protect his crop, it was done at night with a spotlight. The just left the carcasses there for the workers to use what they want and the rest was left to rot. It still happens today, at least the pick up the animals and sell the meat. The same goes for electrical fences, thousands of small animals and snakes are killed by it. This is the veggies that the vegetarians and vegans consume and they are still under the impression that they save animals by not eating meat.

It will be a great day when people start accepting studies and proof after years of scientific research that provides good management recommendations, I am not talking about so called research that was done to serve a specific idea with the aim to BS people. Unfortunately I have not lots of hope for this to happen, unfortunately there are to many people who are not prepared to open their minds to new ideas or the reality of life.

The "public at large" tends to not listen nowadays unless you can fit the entire argument in a "tweet". Busy, busy you know. Mostly lemmings with the attention span of a ferret that regurgitate whatever popular culture tells them to believe.
