Cannablism is alive and well (bad pun) in The Congo. See how civilization has progressed since the oppressive European colonials were banished. How dare they suppress this fine African tradition! http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/africa/01/28/congo.cannibals.ap/index.html Perhaps I should have posted this in "Hunt Reports"?

Cannibalism was suppressed, but never eradicated. It is too deeply ingrained in some of the tribal cultures. George

My Dr. travels to the Congo fairly regularly doing anti-poaching work. I mentioned the current rumors about cannibalism. He said he was on the phone with one of his contacts and inquired about one of their guides. He was told that the person was in trouble for eating "possums". He thought that was odd, and after further questions. After working through the dialect, he realized that the guy was in trouble for eating "persons"!
