How does a BRNO ZKK-602 and a CZ550 compare in quality as a safari rifle? AND isn't he safety backwards on the BRNO? The one I am looking at has a pop up peep.

The CZ550 is a great action and used often by custom rifle builders. It requires some polishing to smooth the action. I have a sweet 7x57 BRNO made in 1951 that equals any custom made rifle and is extremely accurate. They are more or less the same. Finish is nicer on the newer CZ's and yes, the safety is reversed in operation. That is easily fixed. Wayne at American Hunting Rifles has a 3 position safety to retrofit it. The ones that I have seen tended to be heavy, and thick. A rework of the stock would be in order. About as solid a rifle as you will find, though. Jerey
