Sadly, Ramadan is not the same this year.

In this month we normally have an open house, where everyone is welcome to come and break his fast.

It a tradition in our country.

Friends from all walks of life, and religions, join us.

We all look forward to iftar.

This year we are all in a sort of quarantine.

No visits to other people’s homes.

Hopefully we will get through this before long.

Thank you all for your good wishes.

Tolerance, and respect towards others, is what the world needs today.

Good point JG.
To learn of Saeed's tolerance and respect towards others is to review his posts in the political forum or see his posts on Mark Sullivan.

Amazing. Some choose to play on a play ground built by our host, and between swinging on his swing set and riding his merry-go-round, defecate in his sand box on the occasion of a religious event significant to him. Incredible.

Ramadan Mubarak, Saeed.

The Christian Faith (you know like Orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics) and even some of you that are into Christ but dispense with 2000 years of one faith and one church have fast as well.

Orthodox Catholics probably fast more than any other Christians, Roman Catholics fast a lot!

Each time Saeed (gracious host) pens a hateful comment on AR towards, MS, America, Trump, etc., it would be nice to pen his quote of "tolerance and respect for others." I would guess our host would ban us from doing to to any great extent.

Mike, I was not shitting in his sandbox, just point out a fact. Disagree with me if you will, but you must admit I did not lie or fabricate my statement or the facts. I know about 5-6 years ago something changed in your personality as you began a confrontational attitude and one of disagreemnt here on AR. It's almost as interesting to follow the change as it is to follow Saeed's change towards Mark Sullivan over the years. I will expect you to take the other side of any issue I post as will Saeed. However Saeed, as the good Muslim that he is, will do so with tolerance and respect. After all, that's the Muslim way.
Cheers everyone and a blessed Ramadan with tolerance and respect for all.
Cal

Why someone would feel compelled to use a thread dedicated to wishing someone well on the occasion of their celebration of an important religious time in their faith to challenge them on a perception that they are intolerant and disrespectful strikes me as uncalled for. If pointing that out makes me confrontational in your view, I'm actually okay with that.

I'm not a party to anyone's feuds on this site. (After this post, I suppose that I may be stepping in to one of them). But I'm pretty appalled that a simple wish of religious greetings becomes a forum for bickering. The next time someone wishes me "Merry Christmas" I hope I won't feel obligated to point out to the well-wisher that he's done things in the past that I personally deem to be less than perfectly Christian. I hope instead, I'll just say "thanks, and Merry Christmas to you." So in that spirit, I wish a "blessed Ramadan" to my muslim friends and acquaintances.
