Sorry if this was posted previously.John Henry Selby (July 22, 1925 – January 20, 2018) was a South African white hunter who made a name for himself in Kenya and then in Bechuanaland. Selby honed his hunting skills early in life while working for the Safariland safari company and under the tutelage of legendary hunter Philip Percival. During his time with Ker and Downey Safaris, he also met and befriended Robert Ruark, whose subsequent writings about Selby made Selby famous around the world.

Yes quite a good post earlier about his passing. Seem like a book on Harry's life is in the offing too with Harry's input before his death. I imagine this will be a much sort and popular publication.

I believe Joe Coogan who PH'd with Harry for many years in Botswana is working on a book about Harry's life.

Terry Weiland mentioned this in his book on Ruark. That's been a while ago, so I hope Harry's book is that much closer to being finished. Should be good.

Met him at his home, he signed a copy of Horn Of The Hunter. A gentleman in every way. I will remember our visit fondly for the rest of my days.

Not sure if you know but Harry's son Mark died last year after a short illness.

I shared a charter with Mark Selby back in 2009 when I flew out of Danny McCallum's Lukwati concession. I really enjoyed the visit.
