I spent two months living rough under the stars in Kenya with the military. Those thorn bushes have to be experienced to be believed, they will tear your flesh like box cutters if you are not careful. If you have the time to cut them and wire them together they can make quite an obstacle. God's own razor wire. Nothing like lying under the southern cross shooting mini-flares off to keep the roaring lions at bay!! Looking back we could have used a PH with a stopping rifle rather than 5.56 Ball and a Kenyan game scout with a rusty 303.

NitroX, I agree. This is just another thinly veiled attempt to publicize whatever is being sold at the moment. Patterson was there. What the f*** do these weenies know about lions?

Will, But you must admit that some aspects of the story are very unusual; the "lion's den" for example. NitroX , It never occured to me that the cave could have still been in use as some sort of burial chamber or perhaps even perhaps associated with the local witchdoctors? Anyway, such a cave would certainly draw all maner of scavengers , lions included! Regards, Pete

Roosevelt University is across the street, more or less, from the field museum. I can just see a bunch of long-hairs with their backpacks strolling over to the museum to do "research," on something. Let's see what we can re-write today. I notice in the photos that they have redone the lion mounts or found some new ones to put in a more "dramatic" pose. My contention is that the crime element in Chicago, that includes the mayor, actually shaved all the mane off of these so-called maneless lions, and mailed it to the Dallas Book Repository, where it was made into brick facing for the building, and used as as a shooting rest by a team of assasins, and later removed by Enron for use as thermal tiles for the space shuttle, as manufactured by Halliburton. John Taylor would be laughing his ass off at all these supposed lion experts.

Quote: I found this picture and it shows how dense these Thorn bushes were stacked. Still today this method is used to keep out the wildlife from and area. Picture of fence
