Having worked at a zoo for a few years, I can testify that the general public has no concept of how dangerous animals, including giraffes can be.

That reminds me of the brainless woman who climbed over two fences to get close to a polar bear. The bear took a few bites before she could be pulled out !!

At that same zoo fifteen or twenty years ago a man with some mental health issues climbed into the polar bear enclosure and was killed. It's a wonderful little zoo; I've taken my kids there maybe a hundred times over the years. For a while they had a couple Hartmann's Mountain Zebras.It's sad when stupid stuff like that happens.

In this morning's Wisconsin State Journal, the Madison daily newspaper, the "kicked one" says she intends to fight her citation because she didn't mean any harm by what she had done, that she didn't think it was such a big deal to try to get in a zoo animal's enclosure. The giraffe must somehow have sensed what a nut this woman is.

There are a lot of lame brains in California.
