What else have you done besides the hunting when you went to Tanzania through Dar? What was worthwhile and what was not?

Make your arrangements to arrive Arusha and do a 3 day northern tour including Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire park. Then take a commuter to Dar and start your hunt from there. We offer this on a regular basis with our Tanganyika Trekkers photo company. We will handle everything from arrival in Arusha to putting you on the commuter to Dar. Contact me anytime for details. Incredible is the only way to describe this 3 day tour.

Deep sea fishing at Kilwa is another "nearby" option.

My son and I did Mark's tour and it was great! In Dar, A post hunt stay and the Sea cliffs hotel is must. One of the nicest hotels in the world.

If you have a "city PH" available to you Dar has some interesting sights.

The fish market is interesting. Colorfully dressed women come to bid on fish brought directly to the beach.

The alley where the Tinga Tinga art is made has some very inexpensive african artwork. You can take them off the frames and roll them up to bring back in your guncase.

But best of all - as studdog said is just sitting on the veranda at the Sea Cliff and enjoying your favorite drink.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Trekking is a great way to see the game in the parks. You must stay at the Sea Cliff and have the chicken livers on the veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean. The fish market in Dar is a real experience, near there is a place to buy topo maps of Tanzania and offers a chance to get a map of where you hunt. These are hard to come by.
