Yup, seen one of those before. It latches on to a hosts face then lays its larvae in its belly. The larvae matures in the host's gut then pops out through the host's stomach. Can cause major havoc on your flight home.

Haven't seen one of those, Ross, but on my first trip to Namibia, as I was settling into my room, a pure white spider the size of a baseball emerged from behind a leopard skin hung above my bed. When I mentioned this to my PH, Jan du Plessis, he replied nonchalantly.... :"Oh yeah, he's lived there for quite some time. He's a good spider who eats all the other bugs." I left him alone and actually looked forward to seeing him when I returned to my room each evening. I never saw him again in my next three trips to hunt with Jan, and I kinda miss the big guy. I don't know the life expectancy of giant white Namibian spiders, but I expect he died of old age.
