Has anyone here bowhunted with Dries VIsser Safaris in South Africa? If so, can you tell me about your experience with him. I have a system: I pretend to work and they pretend to pay me!

Dries is top notch and you won't find a better outfitter to hunt with. That said I have not bowhunted with him (or anyone for that matter, I don't bowhunt) but he is one of the best! I've heard both pro and con about them, mostly pro. Expensive daily rate though. Thinking of a PG bowhunt? Try Namibia, Maakaland Safaris better day rates farther out of Windhoek (big city) you'll feel like you are seeing more of Africa. Good kudu/gemsbok/warthogs

I agree with Wynwood. Maakalan is a great place. Antonie is a bow hunter and runs an excellent operation. It will probably be less expensive than SA.

My good buddy, who I have hunted all over Africa and North America, hunted with Dries when he had his outfit in Zambia. They had a great hunt and took some great game including buff, leopard and lion. I have met and hung with Dries when he was in the States visiting his clients. Spent time with him in deer camp here. He is the real deal. I've never heard of the outfit the other posters are touting in Namibia. So I can't comment on it. If you are interested in hunting with Dries and want references, pm me and I will send you names and phone numbers of hunters in Houston and Sinton Texas who have hunted with him!
