Sorry Saeed I know this isn't the bowhunting forum but I know even the rifle hunters will appreciate this magnificent trophy. Shot with a bow at 17 meters. The one horn is 44 3/8 inch which is the best in the world taken with a bow the other horn 44 inches. Together the horns make it number 2.

I don't see that it matters...lots of the top contenders in the record books (SCI and Rowland Ward) are cows. If length and the "book" are your thing, quite an accomplishment with a bow!

I consider some of the whitetailed does I've taken with my bow some of the most challenging 'trophies' I've ever been able to harvest. I consider anything taken with a bow a trophy.

Excellent shooting and superb shot placement!!!

It is news to me that it is easier to hunt a female animal than a male. It should be all about the hunt.

Congratulations on an excelent trophy, even more exceptional because it was taken by a bow. A great accomplishment in my eyes beer

I assume that you guys are kidding about "cows" or uninformed that Gemsbok is one of the view species in which both sexes are trophy animals. The world record rifle animal was a cow.

Great trophy, great shot. Kudude

It is also true that a female Gemsbok grows much longer horns than a male, although they are thinner than a males horns. Male horns over 40 inches are very scares. Usually the females have kinks at the tips of their horns. The new no. 2 is a beautiful animal with straight horns without any kinks or bends. Very exceptional.

Nice Gemsbok! For certain.

Is that the entry or exit side showing in the photo? Looks like a Montec broadhead, what weight 125gr?

Probably bled out really quick nailing the top of the heart like that. Good shot!

Congrats!

I will using the Montec for gemsbok as well ... great broadhead, isn't it?

Doesn't hurt to put it through the ticker though ...

Very nice trophy! Congratulations! as judged by the wear on the horn ridges and tips being blunted, an old one. Be very proud of it!

Thank-you all for the well wishes.

Chris,
She was shot on a farm just outside Potchestroom in the North West called Pienaars Hoff

Yukon,
We did not have a PH as we are locals and do not require it.

TheBigGuy,
You are on the button, Montec 125gr. The arrow did not pass through but lodged in the ribs on the opposite side so you are looking at the entry wound. Bleeding was good, easy trail to follow she went about 70m in fairly thick bush.

The Gemsbuck was actually shot by my hunting partner and not me to top it off this is the first ungulate he has ever taken with his bow. I will pass all your wishes onto him.

Here is a pic of the initiation. Note the mampoer in the left of the picture
