My son and I are off tomorrow for our first Safari in RSA. We fly to Toronto, then to London heathrow the nest day then overnight to Johannesburg. We are hunting with Nihan Engelbreght of Huntersgame Safaris. We will be in the kalahari and near Kimberly.

I will post a report and pics when we get back.

Good luck and good hunting... nothing like spending quality time with your son.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

My first safari was around the Kimberley area (mostly near Douglas). I'll warn you though, it wasn't my last safari and it led to much more extensive (and expensive) adventures.

You should shoot great gemsbok and springbuck there.

Let us all know how it goes and post some pictures.

Good luck and have fun. Hunted around Kimberly a few years ago. Be sure to stop by and see the big hole.
