A lion with a nice mane

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Everybody dreams of a lion with a great dark mane.Unfortunately they are rather rare, you will only find them on the big savannas were no thorn bushes will tear and wear the mane down.

I sent a picture of a lion mating pair to Saeed a couple of days ago. Maybe he will be so kind a put the picture into this post. Here you will see a nice dark maned lion (not black maned but dark maned. The picture was taken i Tanzania in the 80ties).

Who shot him? No-one, you do not shoot at lovers!

Besides, when you see lions mate but are to slow with your camera, just sit still for twenty minutes and they are at it again.
It is estimated a lioness mates 5000 times during her life span. Well ladies and gentlemen, what do you say about that?

That's only once a day for a little over thirteen years, with time off for the Super Bowl. Lots of guys do that. Not with a lion, of course.

that is very interesting. surely these lionesses do not give birth 5000 times. lions are very much like humans in that they do things strictly for pleasure, as in this instance. but it is also documented that they hunt for sport, not even eating what they kill. an admireable animal.

I've got video of a large dark maned lion mating. The video was taken from 10-15 yards in the hunting car. I took it in 1998. The lions mated at least 2 or 3 times during the few minutes I videoed. At 15 yards they were invisible when they laid down to rest in the tall grass.
