I just saw an email from a buddy that is going to Zim in a couple of months, and he started he was told that he can only take 40 rounds per gun.

Has anyone heard anything about this???

I will try to get more details from him tomorrow.

Nobody has told the industry! Normal allocation is 100 rounds without question and up to 300 if you have a letter from the outfitter saying you need it. ...and other than .22 it hard to get more than 100 rounds into your airline alocation anyway

You won't need more than 20 rounds unless you are on a cull hunt. Charters limit your total baggage weight for obvious reasons, esp if the plane is full or near full. Normally, no hard guncases allowed and they "ask" that you keep your baggage to about 40 lbs per person. 100 rounds of 375 weighs about 8 lbs ...your rifle another 10, so that leaves 22 for all the rest.
