I had one box of Federal Premium 180 Grain Trophy Bonded that I shot 2 Impala, 1 Kudu, 1 Bushbuck, 1 Waterbuck, 1 Warthog, 2 baboons all with one bullet each. I still have over half the box left, and even though I don't have a 300WSM anymore, I'm keeping the rest of them for a posterity.

On the other hand, I used damn near a whole box of 300 Grain Federal Solids on my hippo. Was told to shoot until he stopped moving, so I just kept on shooting. 4 were recovered, 3 you could reload, 1 was bent. Not my finest hour of shooting, though the hippo resembled a collendar when I was through.

PS I got my hippo feet back from the tannery. What do you do with them? Wastebasket? Lamp? Stool? Bookends? Suggestions?

I must confess it's a gift from my friend David Guitar. It's got to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen, but then again I'm one of the few guys in Texas with a Hippo foot ashtray!

I suggest you take your hippo and melt him down for fishing sinkers. LOL!!
