I was 44 this June. After experiencing Africa, I could kick myself for not going at least once on my 30's. I will have to make up for that deficiency.

I am sure your "pusher" (aka dealer, whatever) will see to that. Big Grin

As you know, for me it was 32 and 35 for first two, and 36 for #3 next year.

I went this year at 30, and while it wasn't the safari of my dreams it was damn sure something I should have started years ago.

I will return to Africa no later than 2007.

And I might go back next year and just hunt baboons and warthogs.

Good luck Sean, you'll kill more animals in 7-10 days than you can imagine, and see things you won't beleive.

The non-huntable game is the most amazing!

Went on my first, once in a lifetime, get it out of your system, too expensive, won't need to go again Safari at age 54 in 2001. Didn't go in '02 but went in 03, 04, just back two weeks ago, and booked again for '06. It's more addictive than drugs. Love it. If I had known 30 years ago what I know now, I'd either be living in Africa on in Debtor's prison.

Ramrod,

Excellent wording!

I did the same thing you did, "Just wanted to go once, that's all I needed to get it out of my system!"

Thanks for reminding me!!

And yes does it get addictive, after each safari I have to go back!! can't stop myself Eeker

Damm, but I sure envy you youngsters that got to do this stuff while young enough to really enjoy it. I first went to Africa at the age of 61. It was worth the wait. I returned at age 63 (this past May), and will be going back next year. Once it gets in your blood, you can't quit.

I am pretty luck to have a father and grandfather that lived and hunted outside the lower 48. So I knew when I was growing up that come hell or high water I would live overseas and travel the world.

I have hunted in Alaska, Spain, Africa, and lived in Greece, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam, and soon Italy.

If your young travel, if your old start!

Well, let's see, I made my first trip last May at 28 and will make my next trip in April at 29. The down-side to that is I will probably only get to go another 40-50 times before my life is over. If I am lucky.
