This may be a pretty basic query for an old hand so try not to laugh too hard if the answer is so obvious I've failed to regocnize it....

Are Hippos only hunted during the day when they are in water (or in the vicinity of water)? Are (or why not) they hunted at night when foraging? Or is this simply hunting time law, i.e., sun-up to sunset?

With rare exception (vermin, big cats in some countries, maybe PAC), it is illegal to 'sprot hunt' at night.
