AtticusTrophy hunting explained well
I am not sure if this has been posted here before, but just in case.
My daughter and her boyfriend (both hunting advocates) showed me this over the holiday and I was surprised to see a left leaning show explain trophy hunting and do a nice job. Sure they make fun of hunters, but this was the first time I have seen anyone on the other side of the hunting debate look at facts. Its oversimplified but its a step in the right direction.
Facts are stubborn things--John Adams

"I speak of Africa and golden joys; the joy of wandering through lonely lands; the joy of hunting the mighty and terrible lords of the wilderness, the cunning, the wary and the grim."
Theodore Roosevelt, Khartoum, March 15, 1910

cal pappasThanks for bringing this to our attention. While I didn't care for the last few seconds, I think the message is a good one for kids and those who have not made up their minds one way or another. I will show this to the kids in my school where I substitute.
Cal
PS. Was the guy Elton John?

thread on the same video. The original link has almost 2.5 million views . . . amazing. Hunters could learn a lot from the effectiveness of this sort of social messaging approach . . . but doubtful that we will. We need to get more twenty year olds with ethnic and gender diversity designing the messages and the delivery methods and fewer middle age white guys.

MARK H. YOUNGWhat was disappointing to me is that when I posted that U Tube video on my FB it got 1/5 the views that the hunt offering did before or after it.

Mike:
You are totally spot on here: more ethnic and gender diversity would be great. A good start would be more ethnic diversity on outdoor oriented programming...maybe a show starring Karl Malone.

. . . perhaps you have a bunch of middle aged white guys visiting your Facebook page? We preach to the choir and feel good about the sermon, unfortunately there are few converts. We need to be more evangelical in approach . . . to stick with a poor analogy.

I've always said when you preach to the choir, your back is to your congregation - not a good thing. Yes, more evangelical, and also more ecumenical.
