FrostbitGood read
"True Believer" - Jack Carr
It's the second book in the "Terminal List" series. The first book "Terminal List" was made into a series on Amazon Prime starring Chris Pratt. The books, as is usually the case, are even better.
I mention "True Believer" because a large chunk of it takes place in the Niassa Reserve on the Lugenda River. Having hunted there I found the descriptions of the area and more importantly the portrayal of the benefits of hunting to an area's anti-poaching efforts to be outstanding.
Enjoy!!

I'm just starting to read the TL. The series was so weird and far too many flashbacks.
I had someone I trust tell me to read the book.

I still liked the series but the book is far better and the story line slightly different.
Steve, I think you will really like the second one as well. It's obvious that Jack Carr either hunted the Niassa or spent a fair amount of time there in a hunting camp and the field.

KpoynterI read the book.
The research is excellent. He described coming ashore in Pemba quite descriptively.
He described getting a charter to the Niassa..
Living there with the Rhodesian fam..
Anti poaching using military training
It is excellent…
Then the readers need to read about Montana
Biy the books boys…

AilsaWheelsI have listened to Carr's books while exercising.
One of the three books talks about his father buying him a D'Arcy Echols rifle and him using it.
Agree with the comments describing Mozambique. Carr has been there and done his research. I heard an interview that Carr did. If I remember correct, Carr hunted and shot a buffalo in Niassa as part of his research.

WR500I’ll definitely be reading these books on my return.
Im in Pemba waiting for our charter flight into Niassa for a 10day multi buffalo hunt.
Can’t wait to get there.

Bwana_500Definitely read the books before watching the TV series.
I wonder if they will even include the Mozambique section in the second series of the TV series. If you read the reviews of his books, a lot of SEAL want-to-be types didn't like Mozambique interlude in the second book.
