Allow me to share some of this seasons plainsgame hunting with you, a real previlidge since I share these normally with local friends only! My youngest daughter (11) asked me to hunt blesbuck this year, which is her first animal taken. We practised quite a bit with the .22 and later the 6 x 45.She shot this blesbuck with the 6 x 45 loaded with 95gr NP.No need to say I am one proud and happy father. http://photobucket.com/albums/a162/koedoe/?action=view¤t=IMG_0881.jpg I took this hartebeest on the same farm in North West with a 30-06 loaded with 220gr NP. http://photobucket.com/albums/a162/koedoe/?action=view¤t=IMG_0892b.jpg A week ago I took the warthog with the 10,75 x 68 loaded with a Stewart solid of 375gr.I really enjoyed hunting with open sights and took the warthog at 60 yards. http://photobucket.com/albums/a162/koedoe/?action=view¤t=IMG_1082b.jpg I were fortunate to take a couple of impala and blesbuck on earlier trips as well.Tried for an eland bull early May with the 10,75 but my luck ran out after three days of hard hunting, walked 8 hours per day but could only find shots at cow and young bulls.Guess I will have to try again next season. Just a thank you to all the contributors on AR, you are keeping my buffalo hunt dreams alive!! Jan

Jan, Those are some very nice trophies, you are a lucky man to have a beautiful daughter to hunt with, I have a little 4 year old girl that I'm hoping likes hunting as much as her father! Hopefully I will have a picture of her with a gorgeous blesbuck some day! Thanks for the pictures. Joe

Man I like that 10.75!!!!! Nice rifle set up with the perfect sights for that caliber! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch... Jan: It looks like you have two trophies in the first photo. Congratulations on both! Dave "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value." -Thomas Paine, "American Crisis"
