Last night I had the opportunity to view and handle some of Bill Jones impresive collection of double rifles, most notably the 700 NE that has received considerable mention on this forum and Tracks Across Africa as well as Fletcher Jameson's 500 Jeffery that took over 300 elephants.

Bill was very gracious to bring his fine rifles to our Alabama SCI event and was equally gracious to allow me to handle and photograph several of these very valuable rifles. I even joked that I needed a loaner double for my elephant in 2011 and Bill suggested the 700 NE. I said I wasn't man enough to take him up on the offer.

Anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy the photos. Here they are.

One of two tables of fine rifles:

The Fletcher Jameson .500 Jeffery

Good article by Boddington on this gun and Bill's 600 Marcel and the 577 in Petersons Rifle Shooter Nov/Dec 09 issue. Pictures of Boddington shooting it looks like it rocks you.

Yes, Boddington's article was also in another one of Peterson's Magazines as well. Thanks for sharing it all with us, Will.

Great photos. Did you find any of Mr. Boddington's DNA on the trigger guard? Or was that the 600 that he doubled on. patriot

I have had the chance to shoot Bill's .700 as well as Fletchers rifle...quite a thrill ! Bill was a great help to us on the Boddington On African Rifles project and his collection of rifles is amazing.
