boarkillerIsn't it funny that roan looks like immature sable?

Big Wonderful WyomingI don't understand these nested trophies at all, but I guess to each their own.
I have seen some strange combinations.
My brother in law is a taxidermist and he comes up with the wierdest shit to put together.
I guess I just don't like pedistals.

shootawayMy favorite mounts at the show were the cat mounts by Phil Soucy.Mine should be here shortly and if it is anything like the mounts I saw there in real life I will be very happy.

BWW,
Roan and Sable are of the same family - Hippotragus - therefore their juxtaposition is justified.

Ok, how often in the wild have you seen a roan and a sable mounting one another?

I once saw a Roan mounting a Hartebeest. It was in the back of the truck after I killed them.

It's not about mounting, it's about justifiable juxtaposition.

AR MANThat is some extremely fine taxidermy and also begs to ask the age old question of which is a better trophy? Perhaps for me because this particular roan has slender horns I'm not sure, but it doesn't hold a candle IMO to that Sable!
With that being said I'm counting down the days to hunting a wild Roan!!
Good hunting

MTarcherYou're welcome Frostbit. Wish I had a better view but someone was standing in front of the mount the whole time so I took what I could get!

That's what happened with me as well. You don't happen to remember who's booth it was do you? I think it was an outfitter.
