I have an old Weaver K3 that is the epitome of the KISS principal. It gives enough magnification at 100yds or less and has a black dot reticle that works real well on running game. And after spending time on a 375, and now a 12ga slug gun, it has proven itself to be pretty much indestructable. Just my two cents.

The 2.5X Leupold is fine, but my wish for any new model would be for a 1X with a slightly longer tube (1" longer) and 5" eye relief with Leupold's heavy duplex reticle in matte black only, and supply the Butler Creek flip up lens covers with each scope, for Pete's sake!

I like RA's idea of a 1x scope that could easly be used with both eyes open. I'll pass on the Butler Creek covers, I use a piece of cut intertube!! I loose them all the time,besides I can't stand clutter on my rifles.
