Crocodile attack The Herald December 12, 2007 A NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD Nyabira man died recently after being attacked by a crocodile while swimming with his friends in Darwendale Dam. Portifary Lloyd was swimming with Wellington Chidondo (22) and Emmanual Bhiriyo (25) when a crocodile suddenly attacked Chidondo who screamed out for help. As they swam towards the shore, the crocodile released Chidondo and went for Lloyd dragging him under the water. Efforts to locate him were futile and they alerted police and Parks and Wildlife Management Authority officials who combed the area and managed to retrieve his body the following day. Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Inspector Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident. — HR.
